The Automatic Millionaire
This was a really quick read for me. If you are just getting started, then I would say The Automatic Millionaire is well worth your time and a great place to start! By the time I read this book, I was already doing the majority of the items in this book. With that said, it was still worth my time. My biggest takeaway was that I really needed to pay off my mortgage. What I like about this book is that it is action-based. At the end of each chapter, David Bach lists out what you need to go and do. There are also good examples and stories that make this a pretty easy read.
A Simple Path to Wealth
If you are looking to learn more about investing, then this J L Collins book is for you. A Simple Path to Wealth is the perfect book to learn about investing with index funds.
The Little Book of Common Sense Investing
The Little Book of Common Sense Investing: The Only Way to Guarantee Your Fair Share of Stock Market Returns by John C. Bogle is another great book for learning about investing with low-cost index funds. This book convinced me to simply my portfolio into this approach.
The Intelligent Investor
Once you’ve read the above books, then I would look to The Intelligent Investor to get more breadth and depth. This is one of the top-rated investment books.
The More of Less
The More of Less is a wonderful book by Joshua Becker. I have to list this one because it was THE book that made me really have a breakthrough with moving on to my minimalistic path, which happens to have many personal finance benefits as well!
This book can help you figure out your connection with “things” and your shopping habits, and what truly makes you happy. If you can do this, it can make a huge breakthrough in your behaviors and your happiness.
The Millionaire Next Door
I’ve read The Millionaire Next Door is one of those books I’ve read numerous times. It’s also a motivational book and helps shift your mindset.
The Total Money Makeover
If you need to get out of debt, Dave Ramsey is one of the best! His book The Total Money Makeover and workbook below are super popular for helping you accomplish your goals using his 7 Baby Steps.
