Amazon is one way that I save money on groceries, among other things. I’ve been an Amazon customer for over 20 years and have used their Subscribe & Save for a very long time for my groceries and other household items that I use on a frequent basis. I research all of my products before subscribing by comparing them to other retailers. I thought it was worthwhile sharing with everyone the items that I typically receive through this program. The items available do change so here I am in 2024 making an update post for you to get the latest and greatest favorites of mine! As a best practice, I recommend purchasing it once, before buying it in bulk!
How to save money on groceries in 2024?
Here are some ways you can purchase from Amazon to save money on your groceries and get free shipping:
- With Subscribe and Save, items come to your house on a monthly cadence, that you determine when you set up the subscription. You can cancel a subscription at any time, skip it, or change the next month to receive it. You can control what the estimated delivery date is for your orders. When you use this feature, you save with a Subscribe and Save price. You do not need to be an Amazon Prime member to use this feature.
- If you are an Amazon Prime customer, then you can just order what you want, when you need it and get it delivered for free.
- If you are not a Prime member, you can buy pantry staples and get them delivered for free by just purchasing $35 worth of items in an order!
I am only recommending products here that I actually use.
Frugal Grocery Shopping Tip for Amazon Subscribe & Save
Before ordering anything in bulk though, make sure you actually like the product first so that you aren’t wasting money on something you potentially won’t like! Before I add an item to my Subscribe & Save, I always do my research to make sure it’s a product we love and is a good deal in bulk pricing to save money on groceries. Again, if I haven’t tried an item yet I would recommend ordering it first and making sure that you like it.
To get the best price on your items with subscribe and save, I always order 5 or more items so that I get the highest discount. This way you will get 5%-15% off of that price! The prices in the images below are for the one-time price. Buying in bulk is a helpful for saving money in your budget.

It’s hard to find perfume-free and fragrance-free products. From looking at my history, I’ve ordered this 15 times from Amazon Subscribe & Save! Almay Clear Gel Antiperspirant Deodorant has been my go-to deodorant for a long time before I found it on Amazon. The ingredients in it are pretty clean too.
Seventh Generation Hand Soap, Free & Clean Unscented, 12 oz, 8 Pack
It’s hard to find perfume-free and fragrance-free products, especially hand soaps. I really like this Seventh Generation Hand Soap. I order it typically every other month through Amazon Subscribe & Save.

We’ve ordered different varieties of Kashi granola bars. They are really good in general. Kashi, Seven Grain with Quinoa Bars are really delicious. We are always on the good with kid’s activities and sports so these are a nice convenient snack for us to have for the kids and for us adults too!
Goldfish Crackers, Snack Packs, 45 Oz
We always have goldfish in my house. I buy this box of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish monthly through Amazon Subscribe and Save. Having these on hand can save some money because I get them at a great price and they are individually wrapped, which is a must for school snacks since my daughter is in kindergarten. They are also great for team snacks such as soccer and basketball. They come in handy!

These are a nice little snack to keep on hand for at home and as we are traveling. My kids eat a lot of apples but having GoGO Squeez in the pantry is a nice way to switch it up once in a while and they are also handy for classroom snack days and for after sporting events.

This is not an all-year item for us. The kids do like Gatorade for sports and in the summer, and this is the best price I found from my search.
